Abstract :
A frequency control loop for 16-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) optical coherent systems is proposed and demonstrated. An overall design of the control loop has been evaluated based on simulation results. The proposed frequency control loop enables to estimate, track and compensate frequency offset beyond ±5 GHz. Also, tracking and pull-in range for closed loop have been characterized.
