Abstract
In this paper, a new algorithm for symmetric encryption is proposed. This algorithm is intended to encrypt color images, where each pixel is encoded on 24 bits and is based on the principle of chaotic confusion and diffusion, using chaotic sequences generated by one-dimensional chaotic applications, called logistic maps. This algorithm consists of several confusion rounds done by means of chaotic sequence and chaotic confusion keys KeyConf as well as two diffusion rounds that allow mixing properties of adjacent pixels with chaotic diffusion keys KeyDiff. Then, we proceed to analyze the security of our algorithm; this includes an analysis of histograms, an analysis of the correlation between various image sources and their respective encrypted images, an analysis of the sensitivity to secret key, an analysis of the sensitivity to plain image, an estimation of the size of the key space and of the encryption time.
