Abstract :
This paper analyses the spectral efficiency of Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) system using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG). We consider three configurations of OCDMA system namely DS-OCDMA (Direct Sequence-OCDMA), SAC-OCDMA (Spectral Amplitude Coding-OCDMA), FFH-OCDMA (Fast Frequency Hopping-OCDMA). The system performances are evaluated by taken in consideration the effects of Multiple Access Interferences (MAI) and the intensity noise. We compare the spectral efficiency achievable in coherent and incoherent configurations of the three OCDMA systems.
