Abstract :
Transistor evolution for further CMOS extension and emerging ldquobeyond CMOSrdquo technologies are discussed. It seems very difficult for beyond CMOS devices to replace CMOS. A concept of ldquoextended CMOSrdquo, in which new emerging technologies are merged into the CMOS platform, is introduced.
