Abstract
For Q algorithm in EPCglobal Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Class-1 Generation-2(Gen-2) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) protocol, the updating rate of Q will cause unnecessary collided slots and idle slots, which lead to identification delay. To speed up the inventory round, we propose a Fast Q algorithm that adjusts the value of Q with different steps according to the type of replies from tags. Simulation results show that the proposed Fast Q algorithm costs less identification time and unnecessary collided slots than that of other solutions.
