Abstract :
WDM-PON systems have several promising advantages when compared to other optical and non-optical systems. Using a renewable energy source on the active components enhances these advantages in terms of reduction in carbon footprint. Reliability of OADMs and Arrayed Waveguide gratings used in WDM-PON system with renewable energy source for powering the transmitters in a WDM-PON system is investigated in this paper.
