Abstract :
The Combined Release and Radiation Effects Satellite (CRRES) was launched into an elliptical orbit on 25 July 1990. Onboard was the High-efficiency Solar Panel (HESP) experiment. This experiment was designed to evaluate the radiation resistance characteristics of advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) solar cells under various environmental conditions and thermal annealing treatments. A description is presented of the experiment and the data taken within the first 30 days after launch
