Abstract :
Network simulator version 2 globally known as NS2 is an open source event-driven simulator tool gained very much popularity in communication network field due to its flexibility nature. Till the day there are number of projects tried to tell us how to use this tool effectively. An issue about performance evaluation process needs to be considered. A trace file which comes as an output of one-time simulation is larger in size, to analysis this file will pay large amount of time. Researchers have proposed number of evaluation methods. However, how to easily do the performance evaluation still is missing part in network simulator. In this paper we present a mathematical model to work with pre-simulation tcl file and for further performance evaluation process. We apply this model for performance evaluation on the comparison of two on-demand source routing protocol DSR, AODV and one table driven routing protocol DSDV and shows that DSR is reasonably proper for sensor work applications and projects.
