Abstract
LIPS III, the third of the `Living Plume Shield´ satellite series, was launched in mid-year 1987 into an orbit of 1110 km, 63° inclination, and 1.02 eccentricity. Data from 3.4 years of orbit measurements have been analyzed. The albedo effect, which initially was not taken into account, has now been investigated. Statistically, the correlation of the scattering current data and the albedo effect is shown by the criterion of joint probability. The current data were reduced by a calculated albedo factor, and the time history plots of the characteristic solar cell parameters I sc, V oc, I mp, and V mp were analyzed for the comparison of the measured and the theoretical particle degradation
