Abstract :
A fast and accurate swept frequency method of measuring source match is introduced. It is demonstrated that it is possible to measure the S/sub g/ of a leveled source using a vector network analyzer. A detailed error analysis has been done for the measurement of the source match of a resistive power splitter using an HP8510B network analyzer. The mean difference between this system and the traditional slotted line/sliding short method is less than +or-0.01 voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) units. The method thus shows no systematic error.<>
