Abstract :
A substitution method of measurement using an adaptive real-time control based on the evaluation of the non-steady-state response of the indicating device is described. The method significantly speeds up the measurement and reduces the demand for stability of the indicating device. The method has been implemented on a microcalorimeter for measurement of the effective efficiency of RF and microwave power mounts in the Czechoslovak Institute of Metrology. Its utilization led to a very simple calorimeter with a thermistor sensor and without any active temperature stabilization.<>
