  • Abstract
To develop a GIS fault location system, a series of development tests were carried out, including arc tests, using actual apparatus. As a result, a system was developed, using pressure wave, gas pressure, optical, vibration, and grounding wire current sensors. These sensors were applied according to the features of equipment structures. While studying important factors in applying fault location sensors, the system was developed while paying particular attention to methods for detecting circuit breaker faults in resistance-grounded substations
