Abstract
The process of two coat cathodic electrodeposition is described in light of the benefits held in the application of this process to pole mounted distribution transformers. Due to the lack of an accepted pole mounted distribution transformer finishing performance standard, the pad mounted standard ANSI C57.12.28 was used as a benchmark for comparison. The results of performance testing of panels coated with two coat cathodic electrodeposition to the criteria of ANSI C57.12.28 are presented and compared to similar test results of two commonly used coating techniques. Recommendations are made for the application of two coat cathodic electrodeposition to hot rolled carbon steel where extended outdoor exposure is anticipated and complicated geometries are used in product fabrication
