Abstract :
A layout generation tools for analog ICs is presented. This system is called SALIM (System for Analog Layout generation of Integrated Microcircuits). This fully interactive program merges the knowledge of design engineers and algorithmic tools for generating a layout, taking into account all the constraints to be imposed on an analog layout. The basic elements of the circuits are automatically generated from a library of parametrizable leaf-cells. The great modularity of the system enables its automation through the use of a rule-based system.<>
