Abstract :
A laboratory manual design for information system department has a high importance and is an essential part of teaching subjects that require hands on practices i.e. knowing how to use designing tools and translation of designs into codes, the same goes for observations and logic implementation. Practical exposure to explain the steps that are involved in software and algorithm designing are made clear via well illustrated and designed laboratory manuals. The paper is an effort to emphasis the need of working out well structured, formatted and designed laboratory manuals for undergraduate courses that are offered in universities. The focal point is to synchronize theoretical topics with textbooks, computer laboratories tools i.e. selecting appropriate software and platform to work out practical activities, and evenly distribution of time both for theory, and laboratory activities. It is acknowledged that the study would provide immense help in designing appropriately formatted, well structured manuals for SDLC or Object Oriented Analysis and Design. The contribution of this paper will add to addressing problems, analysis, design, implementation, code readability, testing, documentation and group dynamics in relation with theoretical definition of available tools in system designing and their translation into codes. This will support students in implementation and compilation of software projects.
