Abstract :
This study provides brief information about the total learning experience (TLE) of engineering students, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. A sample from 34 respondents who were actively taking their courses of study for their third semester was analyzed. Data from questionnaire of a five-point Likert scale was measured using Rasch model measurement, for the application in the field of students´ profile, interests and satisfaction measurement. Highlighted by Item Response Theory, this model permits testing on the hypothesis of the statements which will reflect students´ attitude or trait. The principle output of this study indicated classification of the students´ perceptions based on preference of items being asked. It is believed that the present study could contribute for the improvement of teaching and learning process for the near future.
