Abstract :
This paper describes the findings of a study on the measurement of students ability on specific learning outcomes. It is based on a measurement model using Rasch analysis. An overview of the measurement model and some key concepts are presented and illustrated using the final examination paper given through the subject KKKL1124 Circuit Theory II. Results obtained were used to give an indication of students ability againts the learning outcomes. The results highlights students who need extra attention and this can be very useful in ensuring students build up their academic grades from early on in their studies. Lecturers also could translate the findings as a basis for future improvement of the teaching method and style.
