  • Abstract
This paper presents a proposal of a general model for telecommunication networks based on distributing sets of sub-networks (or sub-network classes) into layers, according to functional affinity criteria. Based on the definition of some rules for the utilization of the communication services among sub-networks, a telecommunication network is modeled as a directed acyclic graph, where each node represents a sub-network or a sub-network class, and an edge indicates a functional dependence among sub-networks. The proposed model has several applications in the integrated management of telecommunication networks and, specially, in the correlation of the alarms generated in these networks
