  • Abstract
Taking TD-SCDMA system as an example, this paper would give the MDOA method to extract array manifold from smart antenna (SA) receiver directly by utilizing the feature of mid-amble sequence, which is easier to be implemented than those classic methods used for the detection of DOA. Another prominent advantage of the method is that the number of DOA can be detected is not limited to that of array elements. In TD-SCDMA system, there are two dedicated orthogonal mid-amble sequences to be sent for every CDMA channel, and how to produce these two dedicated orthogonal mid-amble sequences is also presented in the paper. The simulation result is given to prove the correctness of the MDOA method.
