Abstract :
This paper analyses the limitations of the standard methods normally applied to predict the field radiated in the radiating near field region of BTS antennas. Performances are compared to the ones obtainable by a Fraunhofer-based method that has been recently proposed. Comparisons to experimental results show that the new method can be very efficient, as it guarantees the overestimation of the electromagnetic field, without excessive redundancy.
