Abstract :
Based on the analysis of the four factors and the characteristics of the traffic and transportation system, and also because of the limitation and oneness of the approaches, such as describing the spatio-temporal characteristics, dealing with the spatio-temporal dynamic data and constructing the distributed simulation system, a new multi-dimensional spatio-temporal model for traffic modeling and simulation, characterized by multi-dimensional, componentialization and hierarchy, is proposed. This model mainly is consisted of three submodeles: spatio-temporal dynamic system model for traffic described the dynamic behavior of the traffic system, spatio-temporal data model for traffic described the data structure and relationship of the spatio-temporal data of the traffic system and spatio-temporal simulate model for traffic described the distributed simulation structure of the traffic system. Finally, the unified framework of traffic modelling and simulation based on the multi-dimensional spatio-temporal model is proposed.
