Abstract :
With recent innovations, it has been possible to make a generation of online uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) without some of the disadvantages of traditional systems. These new systems utilize a single conversion technology which gives very high efficiency and no mains repercussions. The authors describe DATAPOWER systems, the newest member of which has achieved an efficiency of 96% for a 3 kVA UPS system. The DATAPOWER family are manufactured by Silicon, and are available from 500 W to 2 MW
