Abstract
A digital readout circuit is proposed and analyzed for the infrared (IR) sensor array in this paper. By introducing a novel and simple realization of sigma-delta A/D converter (SigmaDeltaADC), the hardware and power consumption were reduced significantly. A chip of 128times2 IR sensor array readout integrated circuit (ROIC) has been designed by using 0.35 urn CMOS process. Simulation results show that the total power consumption is only 4 mW when the frame rate is 100 Hz and the resolution is 10-bit.
