Abstract :
An open-loop control strategy for optimal compensation of arbitrary loads by means of thyristor-controlled reactors (TCRs) is presented. Real-time implementation of this technique on a microprocessor-based working prototype is described. Simulation and experimental results show that, using the proposed scheme, abrupt load changes are always compensated within the next cycle
