Abstract :
Double-rectifier systems with novel modified diode bridge circuits are proposed. Although a conventional double rectifier system can produce 12-step input voltage waveforms, the proposed double rectifier system can produce 24-step or quasi 36-step input voltage waveforms. Total harmonic distortion of input voltages decrease to 10.67% in a single-rectifier system and to 5.12% in a double-rectifier system
