Title :
The originating concept: A foundation for System of Systems Architecting Decision Making
Author :
Arrichiello, Vincenzo
Abstract :
The paper describes an approach enabling the development of an artefact that can support the analysis of needs and definition of requirements, and make available, to the Architectural Decision-Making process, a “measurement tool” for the evaluation, based on criteria and performance parameters, of the overall effectiveness of the alternative solutions. The approach encourages the active involvement of the main stakeholders enabling the development of a shared understanding and the building of consensus. The information content of the artefact facilitates the generation of diverse alternative solutions and provides also a sound foundation for all the following development activities of the System of Systems.
