Abstract :
The Boolean network model is one of the major coarse-grained approaches for modeling Genetic Regulatory Networks. The present day technologies, such as DNA microarray chips, allow for the simultaneous monitoring of genes expression of thousands of genes. The data obtained from this technique can be used to identify Genetic Regulatory networks and to enable understanding of the complexities of Genetic regulatory processes. The topology of the network can be identified in three steps: · Identification of the elements in a Genetic regulatory network · Identification of the edges between the elements in a Genetic Regulatory Network · Identification of the Boolean functions which define the value of the vertex in the following step, depending on the present values of inputs. Once one has identified the above mentioned elements defining the specific Genetic Regulatory Network case, they can be imported in the simulation software for future simulations of real conditions. I have created computer simulation software based on the Boolean Regulatory Network model, which can be used for such simulations. The software is created using the Java programming language and Eclipse Ganymede IDE. It is created as a Java applet and it can be used via an Internet browser anywhere in the world. The software can be found at the following link: http://www.compunet.com.mk/orce/.
