Abstract :
Thermal control of electronic equipment enclosures within specified temperature limits is vital to maintain an acceptable level of communication system reliability. The paper introduces novel design strategies using precooled concrete of the building structure integrated with phase change material (“PCM”) thermal storage and the vacuum panel heat exchanger(“VPHE”) to protect equipment enclosures from excessive temperature rise in times of loss of the normal cooling system
