Abstract :
Summary form only given. In order to assess the feasibility of scaling existing 110 GHz, TE22,6 cavity designs at 1.0 and 1.5 MW to power levels as high as 2.5 MW, multi-mode, multi-frequency, self-consistent simulations of beam-wave interactions in cylindrical gyrotron cavity designs have been performed using the MAGY code developed by the University of Maryland and NRL. Comparisons of simulated performance and available experimental results will be presented, and the implications for higher power operation in the same mode, as suggested by simulation, will be discussed
