The antigenicity of the flagellin, outer membrane proteins and lipopolysaccharide of Vibrio harveyi

Abstract :
In order to screen the candidates to develope vaccines against V. harveyi, the antigenicity of flagellin, outer membrane proteins (OMP) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of Vibrio harveyi TS-628 was analyzed by Sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and western blot. The results showed that 4 proteins of the flagellin and 5 proteins of the OMP were display strong positive reaction in western blot analysis, which revealed that these proteins are major immunogenic antigens of V. harveyi. While the LPS displayed negative reaction in the western blot analysis, which indicated that LPS was not immunogenic antigen of V. harveyi.
