Abstract
Microwave and high-speed instrumentation is making extensive use of monolithic GaAs ICs (integrated circuits). The author discusses economic factors for instrument insertions, cities sixteen examples of instrument IC applications in the microwave and time domains, and illustrates the areas, where ICs have been most readily accepted. It is concluded that the full use of the potential of monolithic ICs by using higher levels of integration is promising but has not yet been generally accomplished.<>
