Abstract :
A new transmission line distance relaying technique using an on-line trained neural network (NN) is developed. Numerical simulation studied are performed on a differential equation based transmission line model that includes the fault resistance and the remote-end infeed. The results obtained showed very good accuracy, fast estimation of distance to fault and a good estimate of fault resistance.
