Abstract
Visible light communication using LED and high-frame-rate image sensor is one of the critical technologies for intelligent transport systems (ITS). However, current visible light communication system requires complicated and expensive devices, such as high-frame-rate image sensor. To provide high-speed visible light communication with existing simple devices, we propose visible light communication with image sensor of the low-frame-rate and polygon mirror. In our system, the fast-blinking visible light signal is obtained as residual image by low-frame-rate image sensor. We evaluated performance of the proposed system in experiment. The obtained results suggest that the proposed system could achieve data rate of 300 bps; 27 times faster than conventional communication system with image sensor of 11 fps.
