Abstract :
A high voltage driver optimized for driving two N-channel power MOSFETs, which are the two switches in a non-isolated synchronous buck power converter, is presented. Adaptive overlap protection circuit is incorporated to prevent both upper and lower MOSFETs from conducting simultaneously. The high side driver can be bootstrapped and is designed to handle high voltage slew rate. Simulation results demonstrate that each of the drivers is capable of driving a 2000 pF load with a 50 ns propagation delay and a 15 ns transition time.
