  • Abstract
Information technology (IT) outsourcing has become a common practice among firms who are doing everything possible to stay alive in today´s highly competitive business environment. Since some types of information technology services can be used to enhance the firm´s competitive position in the industry, firms are faced with the difficult task of deciding which services should be outsourced. In this paper, Analytic Hierarchy Process is proposed as a tool that can effectively handle the complex, qualitative decision variables involved in IT outsourcing decision making. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate that the attributes of this tool can be used to improve the decision quality
