Abstract :
The paper presents a special approach to solve combinational feedback loop and unnecessary long critical path because of operation units´ resource sharing in RTL (register transfer level) coding. Instead of synthesizing the design by the EDA tool automatically, we make use of the estimated propagation delay, generate guidance and give it to the RTL coding programmer. The guidance which consists of the numbers of operation units as well as permutation and combination of them reduces the hardware required to implement the design. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed technique.
