Survey of QoS multicast routing protocols in MANETs

In mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), numerous multimedia applications require quality of service (QoS) support of multicast. This, in turn, requires QoS support of multicast routing. How to design effective QoS multicast routing protocols in wireless Ad Hoc networks is one of the hottest research area accompanied with challenges. Almost all of the QoS parameters are associated with bandwidth. For this reason, most QoS multicast routing protocols proposed so far which are introduced in this paper consider bandwidth as the primary QoS parameter. The analysis and comparison of these protocols are given. Finally, future open issues are discussed.
