Abstract :
There has been substantial progress in the integrated management of networks and systems. Efforts are being made (by commercial organisations, and through industry organisations/standards bodies, such as TMForum, DMTF, Consortium for Service Innovation (CSI), ITU-T, and IETF) to extend these developments to achieve the integrated management of networks, systems and services. However, these efforts look fragmented and fail to provide a unified methodology for the development of integrated management of evolving e-businesses. This paper uses the concept of patterns at a high level to provide an integrated methodology for service management. We define management patterns at three levels and illustrate the architectural patterns in this paper.
