Abstract :
Clipping is an efficient method to reduce the large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal. However, it causes nonlinear distortion and the clipping noise distorts not only the data but also the pilot symbols to degrade the channel estimation, so the system performance is also degraded. In this paper, a new technique is firstly proposed to mitigate the clipping noise on the pilot symbols to improve the channel estimation. It is shown by simulation that our proposed method can considerably improve the channel estimation and the system performance.
