Abstract :
To improve the QoS of Layered P2P Live System, an incentive-based Tree-push/mesh-pull strategy ICTMS (An Incentive based Tree-push/Mesh-pull strategy) was proposed. Compared with the traditional push and pull Mechanism, ICTMS considers the heterogeneity of peers fully and introduces the incentive mechanism. According to a peer´s different uploading capacity, it uses the push strategy or the pull strategy respectively. ICTMS not only has the rapid data distribution advantage of the push strategy, but also has that of high resource utilization of the pull strategy. In this strategy, it also alleviates the pressure of a cluster header by restricting its service. The simulation results show that ICTMS can improve the overall performance of the system, and it is suitable for large-scale streaming media applications.
