Abstract :
Supply chain risk management (SCRM) has been gradually emerging as a research area of its own in recent years. In this paper, a case study conducted on the largest private book publishing group in China is presented. Although suffering from short product life, seasonal pulse demand, fierce competition, and fast changing environment, the enterprise has been successful in supply chain management and risk control. The critical success factors include reliable supply network, integration of push and pull, risk sharing with retailers, risk pooling by distribution centers, quick response, risk monitoring based on business intelligence, good customer relationship, and powerful marketing ability. To a certain extent, this case reveals the current practices of Chinese domestic enterprises in SCRM.
