Abstract :
Under the network convergence background, the application and development upon embedded systems are more focuses by researchers. Based on the hardware platform of digital set-top box, this paper comes up with a design proposal that implements point-to-point video communication by using digital TV Set boxes. We employed S3C6410 as the core processor, preassembled Windows CE operating system and enabled the transmission of audio and video data by means of IP dial-up in order to achieve video communication. The design of the hardware platform is introduced, and then the software platform and the application software in the system are described. Tests show that this system is stable, reliable, extensible, and thus can be widely applied in the foreseeable future.
