Abstract :
In this paper, an efficient and effective pruned Volterra model is used to describe Doherty power amplifier. Rather than adopting the "black-box" approach, this model is derived from a physically scheme referring to the Doherty power amplifier. To model a Doherty power amplifier with nonlinearities and memory effects, the amplifier is analyzed by two parts in consideration of the influence between two amplifiers, while one is used to model the Class A or AB amplifier and the other to model Class C amplifier. With the Doherty amplifier tested, the proposed behavioral model is validated, and the corresponding experimental results achieve a good agreement with the desire output data.
