Abstract :
Soft-switching techniques have been applied in the design of DC-AC converters in order to achieve better performance, higher efficiency, and higher power density. However, the work that has been done in this field is not widely known. In this paper a systematic overview and generic classification of the soft-switching DC-AC converters is presented. Their operating principles, performance evaluation, and design limitations are discussed. Some possible industrial applications of soft-switched DC-AC converters are addressed
