Abstract :
In order to eliminate noises influence in thinning interference fringes, an effective thinning method is proposed. According to the characteristic of interference fringes gray and noises distribution, the interference fringe is transformed to the frequency space on Fourier transform, and filters off noises frequency spectrum. Then, it is thinned by the traditional Hilditch thinning algorithm. The new algorithm has been tested and the results show that it can overcome the defects of the traditional Hilditch thinning algorithm which has a lot of breakings and branches, and is fit for various gray distribution fringes.
