Abstract
Interference management is a crucial point in cognitive radio. To deal with the interference, systems are used to consider the interference power and its spectral occupation. The negative effects of such interference are often estimated considering that the interference is Gaussian. Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems are typical systems to be considered in a cognitive radio framework; their huge spectral occupation requires the mechanisms provided by cognitive radio and as they often operate in ad-hoc networks they have to manage the multiuser interference (MUI). However the UWB MUI is often not Gaussian. We propose to investigate the characterization and the management of the non-gaussianity of the MUI.
