Abstract :
In India, the E-Learning concept is currently utilized by the corporate for in-house training and the academic institutions left behind. The migration of Indian students to universities in the US, Europe and Australia for higher education could be due to the popularity of foreign universities, quality or scope for employability. In an initiative to stop the brain drain, the Indian Government has provided an open arm welcome to foreign universities. With an imminent stiff competition around the block, Indian academic institutions can no longer procrastinate. Still, many institutions are a long way from implementing the E-mode of education. It is high time we pondered over the question - What would be the appropriate model for India to trigger E-Learning into a wider spectrum? This paper attempts an answer by proposing a business model applicable to Indian scenario.
