Abstract :
Reliable data delivery and congestion control are two fundamental transport layer functions of WSN. In this article we present an overview of the existing transport protocols for WSNs. We discuss the performance of different protocols based on reliability and congestion control aspects. We then present the cross layer protocols for WSN. Finally we discuss the major research issues for the design of energy efficient transport protocols.
