Trans-category retrieval based on subjective perception process models

Abstract :
This work shows our framework of subjective visual perception models. On this basis, we propose: (1) a 3D-object model retrieval facility for the physical level; (2) a content-based similarity retrieval method using individual subjective criteria which uses a graphic feature based on lateral inhibition, and a statistical learning method of similarity measures by hierarchical classifications for the psychological and cognitive levels; and (3) a transcategorical content-based similarity retrieval method using individual subjective criteria. This work also shows our experimental results and their evaluations of similarity retrieval.
