Abstract :
This paper focuses on the increase in number of potential users in fiber optic code division multiple access technique by utilizing the fact the light wave could be propagated in two orthogonal polarization states. Hence simulations are done on the commercially available software RSOFTpsilas Optsim both for time/wavelength (2D) and time/wavelength/ polarization (3D) schemes with varying distances at 1 Gbps system. It has been shown that by utilizing third domain for transmission of signals, it allows significant increase in no. of potential users over 2D system.
